A. Eligibility

This Society is a membership organization enrolling individuals or groups as members. They may be enrolled as provided here under:

a. Life Members

– All individuals having B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture degree, having paid the prescribed life membership fee will be admitted to the membership in the Society. Moreover, the graduates of Agricultural or Plant Sciences working on horticultural crops can also become life members. To remain life members, person must hold a good moral and professional standing to remain life members of Pakistan Society for Horticultural Science.

b. Regular Members
– All individuals having B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture degree, having paid the prescribed annual membership fee will be admitted to the membership in the Society. Moreover, the graduates of Agricultural or Plant Sciences working on horticultural crops can also become regular members.

c. Students Members
– Students of Horticultural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or Plant Sciences, having completed 2 years of B.Sc. (Hons.) can get the membership of the Society.

d. Honorary Fellows
– National or international horticulture experts may become honorary fellow of the Society. A person may be conferred the honorary fellowship of the Society in recognition of his/her long and distinguished career in Horticulture. The proposal for honorary fellowship is to be submitted in writing to the General Secretary of the Society by six members and it would be approved by 2/3rd majority vote in the General Body meeting. The number of honorary fellows shall not exceed ten at any one time. They shall be exempted from payment of all dues and shall enjoy all the privileges of members.

e. Corporate Members
– Private firms involved in horticultural or allied businesses may get corporate membership annually, having paid their prescribed membership fee for 1-2 years.

B. Membership Fee

The fee for membership will be as per following table, which may be reviewed and changed annually by the Executive Council of the Society.

* National – Members affiliated with institutes in Pakistan
** Foreign – Members affiliated with institutes outside Pakistan

1. Fiscal Year

The fiscal year will be calendar year (from January 1 to December 31) and next year membership would need to renew before January 1 every year.

A regular member/life member/honorary fellow of the Society shall be entitled to:

• Vote in all general and extra-ordinary meetings.

• Propose the candidates for admission/membership of the Society.
  .
• Propose in second resolutions.
  .
• Be proposed and be elected for any office of the Society.
  .
• Present papers at all meetings/seminars/conferences/symposia etc. and register at discounted rates.

• Receive all publications of the Society printed for distribution.

A member shall lose his membership on the following grounds and reasons and the governing body is empowered to take such decisions:

1. On his death.
   .
2. On his absence without permission of the president in three consecutive annual meetings.
   .
3. On his resigning from the membership of the Society at any time at his sweet will.
   .
4. By giving one month’s notice in writing to General Secretary to terminate the membership.
   .
5. Not depositing his membership fee on time.

1. In case membership is suspended temporarily for non-payment of membership fee and failure to comply with show cause notice by the Governing Body, it will be automatically reinstated with payment of membership fee.
2. In case of permanent cancellation, the member will be required to become a member newly.
3. The member will have a right to appeal before the general meeting for reinstatement of membership and the decision of the general meeting will be final and binding to all.

1. All questions affecting professional conduct of any member in contravention of the aims and objectives of the Society shall be taken into action by warning, censure or by compelling the guilty member to offer a suitable apology.
2. By recommending suspension or expulsion of such member.

b). Submit the prescribed fee into JazzCash account (Receiver Name: Raheel Anwar; Receiver Number: 0336-1728833) according to category you are applying for.

c). Once membership application is submitted, you will receive an acknowledgement email from “raheelanwar@uaf.edu.pk” within 1-2 working day.

d). After getting email notification from PSHS office, enjoy the membership.
